Jessica DuPont is a conceptual artist who works in the medium of bookselling. 

She completed the 15 year long inadvertent piece of performance art known as "Half Moon Books" in Kingston, NY on December 31st, 2024.

Origin Story

In 2009, a woman was waiting to pick up pizza for dinner at her sister's house when she strolled into a funky little used book store. Intrigued by the sheet of loose leaf marked "Business for Sale" along with contact info she impulsively wrote the phone number down. Back at dinner she wondered a loud if this was something she could really do. Her sister grabbed the number, called it, pretended to be the woman by leaving a message expressing interest. And that is how Half Moon Books got started.
